About Dr. HE Obesity Clinic
Dr HE Obezite Kliniği (Dr. HE Obesity Clinic) is a private clinic for obesity and metabolic surgery in Altunizade, Üsküdar, on the Asian side of Istanbul. It was founded in 2016 by Prof. Dr. Hasan Erdem, a general surgeon.
According to the clinic’s website, Dr. Erdem was born in Hatay in 1976 and graduated from Istanbul University Istanbul Faculty of Medicine in 2002. He trained in general surgery at Istanbul Bezmialem Vakıf Gureba Training and Research Hospital and became a general surgery specialist in 2008. He then worked at Ümraniye Training and Research Hospital and Elbistan State Hospital. From 2011 to 2016 he worked at Adana Numune Training and Research Hospital, where he focused on advanced laparoscopic and robotic surgery. He became an associate professor in 2018 and a professor in 2024. His training includes masterclass courses in laparoscopic obesity surgery and ventral hernia repair in Elancourt, France, and a hands-on laparoscopic bariatric surgery course at the 2013 SAGES meeting in Baltimore, USA.
