About Hernia Istanbul Clinic
Hernia Istanbul is a specialist practice for abdominal wall and hernia surgery in Istanbul, led by Dr. Hakan Gök, MD, FEBS AWS (European Board certification in abdominal wall surgery). Dr. Gök has performed hernia surgery in Istanbul since 2000 using open, laparoscopic (keyhole) and robotic techniques.
The practice focuses on three main types of hernia: inguinal, umbilical and incisional. It also treats chronic pain after earlier hernia repairs, and covers diagnosis, treatment and recovery for abdominal wall hernias and related conditions.
Dr. Gök serves on the board of the European Hernia Society and is a member of the British Hernia Society. In Turkey, he is a founding member and board treasurer of the Turkish Hernia Society, General Secretary of the Hernia School, and a member of the Turkish Surgical Association.
