Medicine Hospital has served patients in Istanbul since 1998. Since 2019 it has operated as Atlas Üniversitesi Hastanesi (Atlas University Hospital), the university hospital of Istanbul Atlas University, under the website medicinehospital.com.tr.
According to the hospital, it has 75,000 square metres of indoor space, 400 beds and 19 operating theatres, one of them a hybrid theatre. It reports around 400,000 outpatient visits and more than 30,000 operations a year. As a university hospital it provides practical training and internships for more than 10,000 students each year and has a 250-seat conference hall and classrooms.
The hospital’s Health Tourism Unit is led by a general surgeon and coordinated by a family physician. It offers multilingual patient advice in English, Arabic, French and other languages, a free review of the patient’s case by a specialist, and follow-up before and after treatment. Departments highlighted for international patients include cardiology, orthopaedics, plastic surgery, neurology, general surgery, neurosurgery, urology and ophthalmology.
