Challenge This Score

If something on this site is wrong, tell us and we will fix it. This costs nothing, it is open to anyone, and we publish what we changed.

What we will change

Anything factually wrong. If you can show us the evidence, we correct it and we date the correction.

  • Wrong contact details, address or district
  • The clinic has closed, moved or merged
  • A certificate or licence has expired, lapsed or been superseded
  • A doctor is listed here who does not practise at this branch, or one who does is missing
  • A treatment claim that misrepresents what the clinic does
  • A price that is out of date, or was never right
  • Someone is using this clinic's name and is not the clinic
  • A privacy concern about information published here
  • The score itself, if the evidence behind it has changed or we read it wrong

What we will not change

An accurate fact, because it is unflattering. If we have recorded that an accreditation is claimed rather than confirmed, or that a clinic publishes no prices, or that we could not verify its capacity, that stays until the underlying fact changes.

This is the part of a corrections policy that actually matters. A directory that removes true things on request is not a directory, it is advertising. And refusing to correct a factual error we have demonstrated is itself grounds for removal from this site.

How long we take

We acknowledge every challenge within three working days, so you know it has reached a person rather than a queue.

We do not put a deadline on the resolution, and we would rather be straight about why. A real check often means contacting a provincial health directorate, an accreditation body or the clinic itself, and those replies arrive when they arrive. Promising a date we would miss is worse than not promising one. We tell you what we are waiting on, and we come back when we have an answer.

Where a challenge concerns a patient-safety matter, it goes to the medical editor the same day and the listing can be suspended while we look. We do not wait on a register to reply before acting on that.

What to send

The more specific you are, the faster this goes.

  • Which clinic, and the page it is on
  • The exact fact that is wrong, quoted from the page
  • What it should say instead
  • Your evidence: a certificate, a register entry, a licence, or a page on the clinic's own site
  • Whether you are the clinic, a patient, or neither

What happens next

  • We acknowledge within three working days.
  • The medical editor checks the claim against the issuing body or register, not against the clinic's own marketing.
  • If it is wrong, we correct it, we re-date the fact, and the score recalculates if the correction affects it.
  • The correction is logged.

If a correction changes a score, the card on that clinic's page shows the new number and a fresh scored date. We would rather be seen changing our mind than be seen being consistent and wrong.
